I can't think of anyone more deserving than Jennifer Broad to nominate! Jennifer is a Kindergarten teacher at Frankford public school in Frankford Ontario Canada. She has 28 children (ages 4/6) in her class every single day!! Her class is split between junior kinder and senior kinders so she is running constantly all day long! From helping with runny noses, zippers, boots and snow suits, to play based teaching to help grow our youngsters into wonderful human beings! She's constantly thinking of creative... These past two years Jennifer has had to navigate the world of the COVID-19 pandemic with her students even in the virtual and remote learning environment!! She's never given up because her students are so important to her. She absolutely loves what she does and her students love her. She's also a full time mom of teenagers and a wonderful wife and friend! The world is a better place because of her. Theresa has been a teacher in Broward County for 34 years and has impacted the lives of thousands of students. This year, one of her students won a national contest for her essay on the Holocaust. Theresa and her student were honored at the local museum. Theresa and her student worked long and hard on this essay project and both of them were emotionally invested as both had relatives who were Holocaust survivors. Mr. Stirpe is a teacher in our PAVE program at New Rochelle High School. He is an innovative, tech savvy, hands on mentor for students of all skill levels. His background in Theater and Film affords him the ability to combine two of his interests to reach all students, helping students to see and reach their potential. With 20 plus years of classroom experience, Mr. Stirpe never quits, and he believes in and works for students even when those students (and sometimes the adults around them) want to... Mr. Paterniti has to be one of the most heartfelt teachers and most deserving of this award. Speaking for our class, we all recognize his appreciation for biology. My family has had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Levake when our oldest son, Brody was placed in her 1st grade class. Brody is now 15 and Sharon is still at the center of his life and ours. The moment we met her, not only was she warm and welcoming, she drew Brody out of his shell and so much of the man he is today can be attributed to her.

Sharon takes the time to understand the value of each student and goes out of her way to ensure they are heard and understood. Her classroom felt more like a living room; a place where everyone feels safe and open and honest conversations are had.
I know the old saying goes, “everything you need to know, you learned in Kindergarten,” but I truly believe life lessons started in 1st grade with Mrs. Sharon Levake and if we had more Mrs. Levake’s the world would truly be a better place.

Vanessa Knight is an awesome teacher who works tirelessly for her students and makes learning interesting and fun. She takes the time to craft lessons that encourage students to think critically and analytically about the content and how it affects life and the world around them. Each weekend, she prepares and shares the upcoming weekly plans with her students. I don’t know where she finds the time for all of the planning and grading she does, but she makes it look easy. Mr. Satterfield is a stakeholder on campus by teaching all levels of high schoolers and instilling a love of learning and civic duty. He is our campus Voting Deputy Registrar, where he helps not only students, but everyone in the community to register to vote and participate in the voting process. Mrs.Louie is a hardworking and caring educator. She is extremely understanding and cares about all of her students. Mrs.Louie touches the hearts of every student she works with. I nominate my Mom, a 9th grade ELA teacher, for her unending commitment to her students through personal and professional obstacles. Over the last few years, my mother has endured surgeries, diabetic health crisis's, was the primary care taker for her parents, and lost multiple family members (7) within an 18 moth period. Mr. Mosquera is hailed as the Elementary Teacher of the Year in Gila Bend Unified District in schoolyear 2021-2022. Mrs. Cartagena provides early intervention services to students with Speech and Language Impairments. She is very dedicated and knowledgeable about her field, but she always goes above and beyond to make her classroom fun and engaging. She loves all of her students and they adore her. As an educator for 17 years, Jennifer never seizes to amaze me. She has a passion to her students like I have never seen. She is naturally motivated to make a difference. Kahoku is an awe-inspiring teacher at my sons Hawaiian immersion preschool, Punana Leo. His love and aloha for the kids is infectious and he takes care to make sure the school feels more like a family than anything else. As Class of 2023 president I can say that Ms. Loria is truly one of the best teachers you can find in this community. Stacey has been teaching Math and college math for over 30 years at Lorain High School, which is a inner city urban school. Ninety percent are on free lunch.

Jennifer is an amazing teacher, mother, wife and friend. THE PROPELLER

One of the most astonishing features of a cruise ship are the relatively small propellers that are underneath the waterline. These small rotating blades work tirelessly to propel the ship and passengers forward to a desired destination. Often times, passengers see the wake that the propellers create and admire the beauty. I respectfully nominate Amanda Phillips to be a recipient of NCL’S Giving Joy giveaway. Much like a propeller, Amanda works tirelessly helping students reach goals they cannot obtain on their own. Amanda teaches fourth grade math at Wooster Elementary in Greenbrier, Arkansas. She works tirelessly, most days into the early evening planning for each students individual success. She takes every approach to motivate her students and bring them JOY each day. Nothing makes her happier than seeing a former student in the community propelling themselves forward. My nomination for Louis "Luke" Haddad for a cruise is two-fold, once as a parent and once as a fellow educator. As a parent I am grateful for the enthusiasm that he brings to his classroom every day. My introverted son feels seen by Mr. Haddad and has developed an interest in history because of the passion Mr. Haddad teaches with. As an educator I have been lucky enough to co-teach with Luke. He is constantly trying out new techniques and growing as an educator to meet the needs of all students.... (view more) He not only is open to ideas, he constantly seeks them out. I have become a better educator from working with him. I've watched time and time again students come back to see Luke years after they leave middle school. He has many roles in the building, but it is not those roles that are remembered by these students that come back, it is the relationships he formed and the way he made students feel during their time with him. While some educators are burnt out by the stress of the job especially since the Pandemic, Luke smiles through it all and makes sure that none of the pressures on teachers affects the compassion and joy he brings with him daily. Mrs. Ferguson, lovingly known as "Ferg" is by far the most loved teacher in all of Fishers High School. Ferg teaches AP Environmental Science, Genetics, and Biology at FHS and works tirelessly for her students all year. Not a day goes by where her classes don't share a laugh together, and she is truly one of the best and most engaging teachers in the whole school. They broke the mold when they gave us Mr. Albert. He not only teaches us content but encourages us and believes in us. He gives us the tools to do our best and helps us when we need it. Teaching at Stoneman Douglas High School has its unique challenges but Mr. Albert finds a way to move us forward despite these issues. Mrs. McAfee’s love for students is undeniable! She refers to EVERY student as “My Child” and “My Fave” because she wants them to know how special they are. Her goal is that after they walk out of her classroom, they will know that they are loved and that they can do amazing things. Excelling in creating an equitable classroom where students feel valued, represented, and respected, Mrs. McAfee shows her students that they matter! Teacher of the Year at GW Carver Elementary school. Signora Navarro has been the Italian Lead teacher for the last 18 years at her school. She has led this 22-year program to what it is today. She is extremely passionate about her job and dedicates countless hours to her students and families with all her heart. Her students truly grow an incredible passion and knowledge of Italian thanks to her fun and interactive ways of teaching while preparing them for the future one language at a time!

I have worked with Aleksandra for the past 4 years. She truly is an inspiration. She is amazing and is so caring towards her students. She has chosen to dedicate her career to children with disabilities and it truly is her calling. Even when her days are challenging in her classroom, she still comes out with a smile at the end of the day. Our botany teacher, Mr.Greene is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had! He is very energetic, interactive, and very funny. He makes up creative ways for us to learn about plants and how to protect the environment. Every week he makes up a game for us to play regarding plants, and it is very enjoyable. While we are playing, he lets us eat snacks that include something that we’ve grown at school, whether it be vegetables or fruit salads, chips and salsa, or other fun things we can make. He also... This young 24 year old left to teach abroad after graduating with her elementary education degree from Bethel university in Minnesota. She has taught and helped children in Ukraine, Philippines and now China. She has given her young life to help other young children. She works so hard for others, she would be deserved of a vacation for herself !

It takes a very special person to be a teacher and Mrs. Marni Clinton fits the bill! With her amazing heart and love for her kiddos, she embraces each new day with compassion, dedication and a desire to help the kids learn and grow. Charles Darwin Magdaluyo, a human anatomy and physiology teacher at Jean Ribault High School, was named the 2022 VyStar Duval County Teacher of the Year at the 31st Annual EDDY Awards. Magdaluyo, who has been teaching for 7 years, was selected from among 180 Teachers of the Year for the county-wide honor.

When you like what you do you give your 100% at what you do. I have been a educator for 22 years and I love what I do. I enjoy making my students smarter and more independent every day that goes by. I enjoy teaching them their letters and numbers but I really enjoy teaching them about feelings and emotions and respect and kindness. I love my students and I enjoy what I do and that is what makes me one of the best educators.

Allison is an amazing teacher! She keeps her students learning and having a great experience daily in her classroom.
